We’re excited to launch a private preview of our new integration with Snowflake Cortex Analyst—a tool that enables business users to interact with data using natural language, helping them quickly find answers, self-serve insights, and save valuable time.
This integration makes it easier than ever to bring your semantic layer directly into Snowflake. With just a few clicks, Select Star can now generate Snowflake Cortex–compatible semantic model files—automatically translating your dashboards and lineage into structured, Cortex-ready YAML.
What this means for your team:
No need to define metrics or joins from scratch—Select Star pulls from dashboards, upstream tables, and column-level lineage to build a model for you.
Business logic meets AI analytics—Cortex Analyst uses these models to translate natural language into SQL, giving business users instant answers from Snowflake without needing to write queries.
Rich metadata embedded—We include upstream/downstream dependencies, popularity scores, and top users right in the model file descriptions.
For now, the model generation runs from within the admin panel and supports dashboards as input. Future versions will allow generation from folders and collections, keeping your models fresh and aligned with how your team works.

We’ve made lineage navigation more intuitive when switching between table and column level views:
Clicking a column in table lineage now opens column-level lineage for that specific column.
You can easily toggle between columns or return to the table view with a click.
Column-level lineage now includes the full table structure for better context.
“Expand All” in Lineage Explorer keeps your selected table/column in sync.
Recent Queries now limited to the last 30 days for a cleaner, more relevant view.
Collections Emoji Picker 🤩 – Add color and emoji to your collections for better visual organization.
Improved Search for Japanese & Korean – Better results and loading state handling for multilingual users.
Team API now supports updates, not just new additions.
Manual Lineage API now auto-matches similar column names like orderName and order_name.
Microsoft SQL Server: User lists from SQL Server are now seamlessly integrated.
Metabase: Assets marked "authority_level": "official" are now automatically tagged as “Certified.”
