IP and network restrictions
Configure IP filtering to restrict access to Select Star from specific IP addresses or networks for enhanced security and compliance.
IP and network restrictions allow organizations to restrict access to Select Star based on IP addresses or network ranges. This security feature helps organizations enforce access control policies and maintain compliance requirements by ensuring users can only access Select Star from approved locations.
Overview
When IP and network restrictions are enabled, Select Star will only allow access for the organization's users from the specified IP addresses or CIDR blocks. Users attempting to access Select Star from unauthorized IP addresses will be denied access, regardless of their authentication credentials.

192.168.1.100
CIDR blocks:

Security compliance: Meeting organizational security requirements
Regulatory compliance: Ensuring data access is restricted to approved networks
Remote work policies: Allowing access only from office networks and approved VPN connections
Risk management: Reducing exposure by limiting access to known, trusted networks
Important Considerations
VPN compatibility: Users working remotely will need to connect through an approved VPN network so that their IP address appears as pre-approved when accessing Select Star over the Internet.
Dynamic IP addresses: Organizations with dynamic IP addresses may need to configure broader CIDR ranges
Mobile access: Consider mobile users who may access Select Star from various networks
Backup access: Ensure administrative access is possible in case of network changes
